I guess I'd better post something already. Kim, you seem to be getting a little restless for something new! LOL
Well, let's see...............Besides working and all that goes with it, I have been busy helping Sandi get ready for Katie's graduation party on Saturday. Megan helped Katie make a picture board of snapshots that we'll put up for people to see Katie and friends throughout the years. Very cute!!
I baked a few kinds of cookies. People seem to like the pecan tassies that I've been making since forever. To be honest, they are my least favorite cookies to make. You have to make dough and roll it into balls and then press each one into a tassie/mini muffin pan. Then you make a filling and pour it into the cups and top with pecans. TIME CONSUMING to say the least. Well today, I was brainstorming and thought that instead of individual tassies, that I would press the dough into a sheet pan. I then made the same filling and topped with nuts and baked as usual. They turned out absolutely great. In fact I think I like them better this new way. I don't know if it's some kind of psychologial thing or what, but I think they tasted better. I know it was way less work and clean up, and that's a good thing! :0)
Tomorrow we're going to Sam's to finish getting all the stuff for the party. I am going to be picking up some things for Megan's baby shower which is on the 26th of this month and then on the 27th I'm helping my Mom with a party for her husband Art's 80th B-day! Whew.......that's a lot of partying in a short amount of time. Maybe I should start watching my diet now so I can lose enough weight to help me through these next few parties.
Oh, and not to mention, Michael's birthday is next week. He said all that he wants for his B-day is an Oakmonter cake! Not that I'm complaining or anything! LOL
Megan's shower plans are going well. We got all the tableware and decorations. All the games seemed to be planned and we finalized the menu today. I hope we have good weather for it. Our pavillion is enclosed, but I hate when it's hot and humid, so I'm hoping we don't get that. I still have to come up with an idea for a cake. We are going with baby feet as the decoration theme. It's very cute. I was thinking that I could bake a sheet cake and then in the middle I could pipe an oval or heart shape and draw the feet inside of that. I'd have to get a copy from the napkins and transpose it onto the cake. That's the only thing I've come up with so far.........any ideas would be welcome (Hi Gina).
Well, I guess that's it. It's WAY past my bedtime. So I'm gonna have to say goodnight.

Oh, I used to make pecan tassies every Christmas and they were always a hit! I made them and the hershey kiss cookies.
Can't wait to see you this weekend!
Love ya!
You guys have a great weekend. I have made baby shower cakes and I make the top like a quilt. Square it off and every other square I will make a rattle or pacifier or bottle and do it all in pastel colors. I will look and see if I have a pic of the last one I did.
Oh I love baby feet!
