Party Central

That's what it's been like around here this July. Last week was Katie's graduation party. This weekend we have two parties. First is Megan's baby shower on Saturday. It is going to be so cute. All the decorations are baby feet. Plates, napkins, cups etc. I'm making a sheet cake and in the middle I'm putting an oval border then I'm carving feet out of another cake and wrapping them in fondant and placing them inside the border. The outside of the border will be cornelli lace. Keep your fingers crossed that the idea in my head can be translated to cake!

Megan and I are picking her mom Sandy up from the airport tomorrow morning. This poor lady has been through a rough week. Her son and his fiance had a preemie baby last week. They named him Max. He is having a tough time. His lungs aren't fully developed and he has a small hole in one of his lungs. He is in an incubator in ICU for at least another week. Please keep this little guy in your prayers!

Once Sandy gets here, we will be busy getting things finished up for the shower. I'm really looking forward to her visit. She's crazy and goofy like me, which I'm very thankful for 'cause I like being myself and not having to act refined. I can do it if I have to, but I break out in hives the next day! Haha! ;0)

Sunday my mom is throwing her husband a surprise 80th B-day party at our place. I say my mom is throwing it, but mostly it's us. It's hard for her to do any planning with Art around. She's a planner, and it's making her crazy that she can't talk about it in front of him. My aunt called her the other day to ask what she could do to help but Art was in another room and Mom didn't want him to overhear so she started talking in Italian! That cracks me up, because when I was a kid, Mom and Aunt Helen would be talking in english and I didn't pay the least bit of attention, but when they started in italian, my ears would pick up and I'd try to figure out what they were saying. To this day I know that's why Mom never taught me to speak the language!

Anyway, that's my week in a nutshell. Work, party planning and more work. It'll be fun though. Thank God for my bestest friend Sandi. She and Katie are going to be my right and left hands this week.

Gotta run. I'm off the the chiropractor and a haircut before work.
