Ramblings

Tomorrow is Mother's Day. I asked my kids weeks ago not to get me anything. You'd have thought I asked them to go church and rob the collection baskets!!!!! That's how appalled they were. Let me clarify that...........Jeanine and Megan (DIL) were appalled, Michael my son, was more than happy to oblige. I think he mentioned how having him as a son was gift enough or some such nonsense like that! LOL Now don't get me wrong, I don't hate Mother's Day, I just think it's stupid! I would rather my kids be somewhere and say "Oh I think Mom would like this" and get that for me than feel like they HAVE to buy me something because the calander says its Mother's Day. Anyway, I don't need anything. Guess what, Megan got me two beautiful hanging baskets for the back porch. (which, by the way I needed) Haha. Sweet girl! :-)

Jeanine and Chris are away for the weekend. We are puppy sitting Murray. He is soooo cute! He has this little growly thing that he does. He sounds just like Chewbaka (sp) from Star Wars. Now this dog is quite big. He's a golden retriever weighing in at about 75 pounds or so and it's so funny to see how little 20 pound Dixie rules the roost. They get along pretty well. They'll play really nice and then all of a sudden Murray picks up one of her toys and all hell breaks loose. She doesn't share well! Bella just lays there and watches like the old lady. Once in a while she joins in to play, but she'd rather be outside.

It rained all through the night. We were supposed to be quite busy today, but now I don't know what's going to go on. Larry is out checking the course for flooding. I have a feeling we'll be too wet for golf this morning. It's supposed to clear up, so maybe we'll be busy this afternoon. Larry and I have a fundraising dinner to go to tonight. I have no idea what I'm wearing yet. I'm going to go through my closet in a minute to see if I have anything appropriate. Most of you know how much I hate shopping, so my closet is a little like Old Mother Hubbards, kind of empty. Well, I shouldn't say empty since it's rather full. Full of nothing good to wear!! I do have two cute little black dresses that I got from e-bay a couple of years ago (don't laugh) but I think I wore one of them to last years dinner. Plus I doubt that they'd fit since I gained a little weight. Oh well, I'll find something. Maybe I'll raid Jeanine's closet. She still has stuff that she never took with her. Would old prom dresses be inappropriate???? LOL

Well, I think I'd better go start my day. Since I might not be working this morning I think I'll go to Curves and come home and do a little laundry. Oh, and I almost forgot...........................I need to go get something for my mom for Mother's Day ; -}

Actually tried stuff on. I bought a pair of black pants and a pair of gray pants. One top to match either. I have a top at home that looks real cute with the gray ones. Now to decide which to wear!!

(don't tell her, but I thought it was tomorrow. Saw Bill this afternoon and said today was the day).
