I think I'm finally over this latest sickness. I actually got out of the house a little bit this weekend. I had absolutely no energy to do anything. For for my first outing Larry and I snuck into my mom's house to look for her box of old pictures while she wasn't home. She is going to be 80 at the end of the month and we're planning on throwing a birthday party for her. I had this idea of creating invitations with a picture of her from way back when on the front. I read that you can have them made at Kinko's so I'm looking in to that right now. It's really amazing to see pictures of your parents when they were younger. Man oh days, was my mom a HOTTIE!! We then went to Ruby Tuesdays for lunch after we lifted the pics. Michael said we were breaking and entering. I said I had the key so it couldn't be. He proceeds to tell me that it's unlawful entry then. My son the wanna be deputy!!! Well, back to lunch. I'm not much of a buffet or salad bar fan, but I do like their salad bar there. They have such fresh veggies. We both got salad bar and those little mini burgers. We were so full that we didn't even have supper that night.
Yesterday was pierogie making day. We usually do it on Monday, but there was a funeral that day. I picked my mom up around 8:15. We didn't get home until after 2:00! When we got there, there were only 2 women there. It seems everybody is sick. This whatever it is that's going around is hitting everyone. Thankfully a few more women showed up or we could have been there till who knows when. Tomorrow I go to the Presbyterian church to make spaghetti sauce for their dinner. I'll also bake a few cakes for each churches dinners. Someone once asked me if I was trying to cook my way to heaven! LOL......oh, if it were only that easy! It seems weird being involved in two different churches. I was raised Catholic, but I go to the Presbyterian church now. (much to my mothers chagrin) I raised both of my kids Catholic but I guess I wasn't a very good example of being a good one since neither one of them goes either. I don't know what happened. As I got older, I just didn't feel it. I couldn't see going to church out of guilt. I almost never came out of a mass with a good feeling. I especially got turned off when they would harp about money. PUH-LEEZ, the church is one of the richest organizations in the world. Do a little internal house keeping and spread the wealth. Oh my, sorry about that. Didn't plan on venting!
Anyway, I love where I go now. The pastor there is wonderful. He always has such a good message and I leave feeling uplifted and ready to face a new week and to me that's what church should be about!...........and that's all I have to say about that....................LOL!
To my fellow Golden Girls: Dorothy - Thanks for the Arizona snow pictures, I loved them!
Blanche - I hope your eye is feeling better! Please take care!
Sophia - Hang in there girl!
Rose - You didn't answer when I called this a.m. Where are you?
St. Olaf?
I guess I should get my butt moving and get something done around here. It's bill paying day, blah. And I want to go to curves sometime today. I haven't been since I got sick and I'm feeling kinda flabby, blah to that too! Bye.
