Nothing But A Crapfest

The weather around here has been one big crapfest lately. It seems like we have had cloudy and rainy weather almost daily. I love the fall weather and usually spend my time outside, but lately all I want to do is cozy up on the couch with a book and an afgan and take a nap. I don't seem to have the energy to get anything done. Oh well, I guess I'd just better shake it off!

Larry and I went to Gettysburg with my brother and sil on Wednesday. Our original plan (which we made back in June) was to stay through Friday. Change of plans. We did leave on Wed. but Larry got a bunch of crappy phone calls about work all day on Thursday, so we cut our stay short and left G-burg around 12:30 Thursday afternoon. The time we were there was fun though. My neice Michelle lives in Hanover, which is very close to G-burg. I would liked to have visited her, but J & C did. They went to dinner together. Oh well, maybe next time.

Yesterday afternoon, I wanted to hop into the shower but when I put my foot in, the water was ice cold. I thought the pilot light was out on the hot water tank, and didn't really think much more about it, (although I was pissed that I didn't get a shower). I texted Larry that we had no hot water and the next thing I know, he's home from work and goes straight to the basement. Seems our hot water tank blew a leak! CRAP!!!! Long story short...........flooded basement, pissed off husband, husband off to Lowe's to pick up new tankless hot water heater (the ones that have continual hot water), husband back from Lowe's with old fashioned hot water tank, wife pissed off, husband says that the tankless ones are up to $1300.00 now. WTF!!! can't afford that, so it's the crappy old fashioned one again. :-(

That was my week in a nutshell.

Bummer about the leak but don't be too pissed about the tankless hot water heater. They don't waste water (while you're waiting for it to get hot), but they run on electricity and do increase your electric bill. I don't know about PA but water is less expensive than electricity here in AZ. They (mfgr) say they're energy efficient but they (customers) say not so much after they get their electric bill. Environmentalist say water can be reclaimed, electricity - not so much.
Lots of controversy about those little buggers.
