I just noticed that I haven't been bloggy lately. I guess it must be that the weather is turning nice finally and I'm spending more time outdoors. Not much going on around here. I haven't been quite as busy with my Mom and Art's appts. They do have eye and dentist this week, but nothing major going on there. They have actually been feeling better these last few weeks which is such a blessing!!
A couple of days last week, my cousin Debbie and I have been helping to clean out our Aunt Jen's house. I swear that she's kept everyghing that ever came through her front door, or back door for that matter. We found some really old books. One in particular was a very old book called the Dictionary Of The Bible. It was dated in the 1880's. We were going through all of her books to make sure that there weren't any important papers or anything like that that she might have put in the pages and later forgot about. Well, I'm leafing through above mentioned book, when I came across a page that had some locks of hair in it. Well, me being the "screaming mimi" that I am, screamed at Debbie;
Me: Ooooooooh, it's hair!!!!!!!!!
Deb: Aaaaaaaah, it's death hair!!!!!!!!
Me: AAAAAAAAAAH, OOOOOOOOOOOH, YUUUUUUUUUUCK, EWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!
Now neither one of us will touch the book. I know, we're being stupid and overdramatic. That's just the way we are. And we both couldn't stop laughing at the time. I was cracking up at the look on Deb's face and she said she was cracking up at the look on mine. Later that evening, I get a call from Debbie saying that she had been talking to her friend Linda and that she said it's probably baby hair. That made me feel better for a couple of minutes and then it freaked me out again. Too many possibilities. I was going to look inside again to see what page it was in, maybe that will give us a clue as to what kind of hair it is. I hope it's something uncreepy. Is uncreepy a word?........It is today.
While we were at Aunt Jen's, Debbie gets a call from my neice Gina. I kept doing what I was doing and then she hands me the phone and says that Gina wanted to talk to me. We didn't have the best of connections and this is what I heard.
Gina: Hi Aunt Chris
Me: Hi Gina. How are you? What's up?
Gina: I wanted to let you know that we are having a "fish and game" night next weekend and wanted to know if you could come.
Me: (pausing to process what I just heard) A FISH AND GAME NIGHT.........what's that supposed to mean, are we eating trout and pheasant or something???????
Gina: (laughing kindly at her hearing impaired aunt) No, a Playstaion Game Night. We just got a fun new game that's like Guitar Hero only it's singing!
Me: Ohhhhhhh, a Playstion Game night. I get it. Sounds fun, I'll let you know.
Now, just so you know, we live in rural western Pa and a fish and game night is common around here. Alot of the sportsmens clubs have them. I just couldn't figure out why my neices were having one. Even though they live here, it just didn't seem like something they would be up for.
Well, off to do laundry and clean house. We're having a little cookout tomorrow for my FIL's birthday and I still need to get some groceries for that. So I'd better get my butt moving. Have a great day everyone!!!!

Yup I probably would have thought "fish and game" too! Now those gross me out! eeeeewwwwwww
Back in the old days didn't they put a lock of hair in the bible from the baby's first haircut?
I'll bet it's baby hair and not old dearly departed person's hair. Ewwww is right.
They also used to put the obituaries and the cards you got at the Church from a funeral. My grandmother and great-grandmother did that. I have many little cards with names on them that I have no idea who they were.
LOL! Did I really laugh kindly? I meant to laugh meanly. :-P
