Here it is, Saturday morning and still no baby news to report. I keep teasing Megan that we're going to put a turkey pop-up timer on her belly and watch for it to pop and then she'll know to go to the hospital. But those things are never reliable either.
Megan's Mom Sandy flew in on Wednesday. She got a one way ticket so she's not on any schedule to fly home which is a blessing. That would be a real bummer if she'd have to leave right after the birth.
On Thursday afternoon, we had a group of National Guardsman who were having a golf outing. They were to leave the next day to report to camp for training before being sent to Iraq in January. They had a great time together (if a little rowdy at times). One of the sgt.'s said that on his first tour of duty that he encountered alot of bombing and shooting. He said that now it's expected to be alot better. According to him things are so much better since Bush ordered the surge. Iraq's infrastructure is working and things are looking good. (How come you never hear that on the news???) We were eating lunch yesterday and we had the Noon news on and there was a report on troops leaving for Iraq and lo and behold I look up and there were all the guys who were just here the day before! I pray that they all remain safe while on duty and return home to the loved ones safely!
Not much else going on. Haven't seen much of Sandi lately. It used to be that I was the busier person, but not anymore. Kellie, hope you are either moved in to the new house or at the least very close to it. Kim, glad to hear you got such a good grade on your Greek test. Now when I'm doing a crossword puzzle and it asks a question about the greek alphabet, I'll know who to ask!
Patti, I hope you're enjoying your vacation! One of these days Larry and I are going to get there. We were supposed to go for our 25th, but we never made it. We had it all planned to go on a cruise of the islands, but we bought a boat instead. What were we thinking! We don't have time to go boating in the summer!!!!
Well, off to work. Take care all!

Dang Chris I got all excited when I glanced and saw that you posted. No baby yet? I bet Megan is ready to go nuts waiting for Baby Day! Know that you are all in my prayers. We are in the middle of moving. Hope to be all in by next weekend. Yes from what Aaron tells about Iraq it is better than it was before. Last year when he was there he said they were fired at all the time and in order to go to the toilet you had to dodge random snipers. He leaves in a few weeks for his second tour. All this still does not make me feel safer with him going there.
That baby is just too cozy and not ready yet.
Don't keep putting off paradise. Life is short (as a friend reminded me last night). The good news is its beautiful here year 'round so you could totally enjoy your off season which is their high season (Dec. thru April). Maybe we should plan a GG trip. Wouldn't that be a blast. I know, your hubbies wouldn't be too thrilled with that!
Sending happy labor thoughts.
