Alabama

This past weekend, Sandi, Megan, Paige and I went on a road trip to visit Megan's mom and dad in Alabama. We left early Friday morning and returned home Monday evening. We brought Megan's mom Sandy home with us. She's going to spend a couple of weeks up here visiting and then her husband George will come up to get her. I had such a nice weekend. We visited a few water falls that are close to their house. They were beautiful. People were swimming in the water and there were some people who were letting their kids get a little too close to the edge of the falls for my liking, stuff like that makes me crazy. It was really hot so we didn't hang out too long, but I'm glad I got to see them. Sandy said that was where the Cherokee lived. Kind of makes you feel guilty that they got pushed out of their homeland. How would we feel today if that happened to us?

The town of Fort Payne is really cute and quaint. I'd like to go back someday, when it's nicer to be outside, and check out some of the shops.

Paige did really well the entire drive. She never slept at all on the way down. Megan has a little DVD player and Paige just watched her videos and kept herself entertained most of the way down. We made pretty good time until we met up with an Army convoy a couple of hours from our destination. That was pretty irritating. It added an extra hour or so onto our time. Overall the drive was fairly easy. Kept my eyes peeled for coppers and luckily didn't get stopped by any!
It was pretty fun taking an all girl road trip. We teased and laughed the whole way there and the whole way home.

Next stop...............???????

I would have loved to have tagged along!
Hopefully I'll make it there before the year slips thru our fingertips.
